Triform is an intentional therapeutic community of approximately 70 people, about half of whom are young adults with special needs(learning, developmental, emotional or social). A commitment of twelve months is preferred, but applications for shorter periods of time are accepted, especially over the summer months. Located on beautiful farmland in upstate New York, with views of the Catskill mountains and the Berkshire foothills, Triform offers a unique opportunity to live, learn and work full time with young people with special needs:
- full participation in all aspects of community life;
- hands-on experience in curative education and social therapy;
- work with young people with special needs in variety of settings: gardening, farming, weaving and other crafts, artistic and cultural activities, household management, educational courses and workshops, recreational outings;
- opportunity to travel to nearby places of interest: Albany, the Berkshires, Boston, New York City, New England seashore, Adirondack Mountains.

Full ‘room and board’ are provided; in addition, volunteers receive pocket money ($150 per month), medical insurance after the first 6 months, one day off per week plus other breaks arranged with the community, holiday/travel money ($500) after completion of twelve months.

The program year goes from late August through the end of July every year, and we prefer that coworkers make a commitment for this entire length of service. Coworkers may extend their time at Triform past the initial service year, with agreement from the larger community.

Admissions decisions are made on a rolling basis, beginning in late January for positions beginning at the end of August.
