Exchanges

One unique feature of Triform is the possibility of a student or apprentice spending time in residence at another Camphill community. This exchange often involves sending one individual to a Camphill in exchange for someone else. Exchanges to California, Minnesota, Pennsylvania, or even to Canada, England or Ireland are real possibilities.

During 2008, two young women, one from Triform and one from Milton Keynes, England enjoyed a three week exchange.  The following describes the adventures and experiences of their unique experiences.

Exchange to England-by Rachel

When I got there to Milton Keynes, I stayed in Soltane House where Tammy stayed in.  The people were really nice and I got to work in the Bakery there and doing some cooking there.  And in the night evening classes, I got to do some Drama and Music with the Bells.  Sometimes people go to the pub and have a drink and nice dinner.  They have many coworkers there and they are really nice.  They enjoy me and they like me very much.  I love England and I enjoyed it–it was great for me!  I did not have any problems and the exchange worked out great!

Exchange from Britain-by Takeshi

Rachel went to Camphill Milton Keynes in Britain for a three week exchange.  Since it was an exchange, we had a person come to Anthea house from Britain.  Her name was Tammy.  She was a joyful and friendly person.  She brought happiness to each person she met while in Triform.

She arrived just at the time we had our Holy Week celebrations.  She joined our journeymen’s coursework such as Eurythmy and painting.

What she most looked forward to do while in the US was to go and visit New York City.  David W., Sasha, Lindsey B., Seon-Ji and I drove down to New York City for a day trip.  It was a great day!  We walked down the 5th Avenue, passed the Empire State Building, took the subway, saw Ground Zero and Battery park.  Tammy was really happy to see the Statue of Liberty.

People gain much experience by going on an exchange.  I am sure Rachel had a nice time in Britain as well.  It is a wonderful opportunity to experience another Camphill Community and meet different people.  It is an opportunity for the people in other Camphills to experience Triform as well.
